Alen wrench screw in camera plate

Posted by Bret on 21st May 2019

The camera plate itself is durable and well fitting to the Ballhead unit. HOWEVER the screw that attaches the plate to the camera has an Alan wrench head . I was out shooting last week and the plate had worked itself loose. Where oh where is my Alan wrench, I was shooting astrophotogaphy It was pitch black, and no way in hell was I going to find that damn Alan wrench. I redesign there must be made! A 1/2 link fold down thumb screw or EVEN a Slotted head with a slot for tightening with a quarter is Better than the Alan wrench. Hell I tightened the plate down the night before w the Alan wrench and THAT STILL can loose.

Purchased it for my Sony a7rii and the plate perfectly embraces the camera, fitting very nicely.

    Perfect Fit

Posted by Arlene on 27th Feb 2017

I was using my original Acratech release plate from my full sized Nikon on my Sony Mirrorless camera. It reduced some functionality on my 6300. I could not use the tilt screen. With the 2189 plate, which is smaller, the tilt screen moves freely. Very happy now.

    Stops camera twisting

Posted by Unknown on 9th Oct 2016

This plate fits perfectly on the A7RII and the lip prevents the camera from twisting on the plate in portrait mode - a problem with generic plates. Great product - if you're going to use a tripod it's worth getting a plate like this that is designed to fit your camera. Why skimp?
