Our friend Al Satterwhite just sent us an invitation to his upcoming exhibition at the Leica Gallery, in Los Angeles, California. Whether you happen to live in Southern California, or will be visiting anytime between September 3 - 30, we encourage you to make a trip to check out Al’s latest work.
The show, aRound New York, is meant to turn traditional photographic perspective on its head by presenting a series of spherical (180’) shots of New York City. This radical reframing was meant to change the each viewer's perception of their environment, providing a gentle nudge to move away from the tunnel vision imposed by the now ubiquitous screens that surround us, and into a larger sense of wonder at our surrounding environs. A large mission, to be certain, but we’re certain Al’s artistry is capable of rising to the challenge.
The opening reception runs from 6 - 9pm this Thursday, September 3rd at the Leica Gallery, 8783 Beverly Blvd, in West Hollywood, CA. Otherwise you can stop by anytime before September 30, 2015, to see the show. For more information about Al Satterwhite’s career, please check out his website here.
