Our Acratech GPS ballhead has all of the benefits and features of our GP and GV2 ballheads, including the ability to function as a gimbal head (image #3/#4), but it was designed with a smaller diameter base of 2 1/16 inches (53 mm), allowing seamless functioning with travel-style tripods. The smaller diameter base allows the tripod legs to fold more compactly around the tripod head.
Like the GP, it was designed to be used upside down, which allows the ball to be used as a leveling base when taking stitched panoramic images. This eliminates any need to carry a separate leveling base in order to create accurate stitched panoramas, as you'll be able to pan paralell to the horizon even when using your tripod on rocky or uneven terrain.
